A very 'Merry' 25th Birthday!

Now I know in my last post I promised I wouldn't mention our dreaded crap Christmas but I turned 25 last Sunday and unbeknown to me, Dan and my family had arranged a 'Merry Birthday' to celebrate it. I woke up to Christmas music, a Christmas tree with my stocking full of presents underneath, the table laid for a Christmas breakfast and everyone in Christmas jumpers!

It was a brilliant day and felt just like Christmas. We started off in our Christmas jumpers sat around opening presents. Then sat down to a perfect breakfast of smoked salmon and eggs with bucks fizz to wash it all down.

After a delicious breakfast Lauren, Dan and I took Davey for a lovely walk around Alice Holt to stretch our legs. It was a beautiful day and for once it wasn't chucking it down with rain.

Once we returned from our walk Lauren started to prepare the most amazing dinner. We had every vegetable you could think of, red cabbage, pigs in blankets, brussels, parsnips, swede, carrots, peas, stuffing, potatoes and a huge turkey!

Lauren cooked up a masterpiece and everything was cooked to perfection. She doesn't know this yet but she's now going to be cooking every roast dinner on a Sunday!!!!

Now no 'Merry' Birthday would be complete without a huge pile of Mumma P's homemade mince pies.  They are truly the best mince pies you can get......not that they lasted for very long.

And of course as it was my birthday we had to have a cake, which was appropriately decorated to match the theme.

Overall we had the most amazing day. It was so nice that we all got to enjoy the day and it made up for a rubbish Christmas. I just can't wait to see what they do next year.....the bar has been set pretty high!!
