Dave turns 4!

Last Tuesday we celebrated Dave's 4th birthday and I just can't believe how quickly this time has gone. It only seems like yesterday that we went to collect him from Wales.

Now I know that some people think it's a bit weird that I celebrate Dave's birthday and that Dave is treated like a child but what you don't know is Dave came to us when I was struggling a bit, he got me out of bed every morning when that 'black cloud' was hanging over me, he would come and sit on my lap when I was feeling low, he got me out the house when I was scared of life outside my 'safety zone.' Dave is apart of our family and we love him to bits!

Dan and I both had the day off so we decided to go down to Lulworth Cove and take him on a lovely long walk. Sounds lovely doesn't it and that's what I thought until I was greeted with this.......

This photo doesn't show just how steep and long this hill was!!!

But the workout up the hill was so worth it, the views were stunning.

Once we got to the top Dave had to have a little sit down to cool off. We were so lucky with the weather, it was extremely windy but the sun stayed out!

If you have been before you will know how scary the walk down is. The hill is so steep that you have to walk down very slowly. Even Dave was a little scared about going back down!!

Now of course we couldn't go all that way and not have a bag of chips in the sunshine.

After 4 miles we decided to head back home and treat the birthday boy to a special doggy cake....it took him all of about 4 minutes to eat the cake but he enjoyed it!

  1. LOVE Dave! Look at his cute little face .. and awwwwwwww when he was a puppy he was even more adorable (if that's possible!) Pets are important and part of the family, I've always had cats growing up and we talk to ours like they're human, I actually think I get quite a lot of sense out of our ginger tom :)

    Lovely photos x
