My first ever haul!

On Friday Dan and I did something we haven't done in for ourselves! We're saving the pennies so we didn't go mad. Dan is in desperate need of some new trainers, his currently have a hole in and aren't really ideal with all the weather we have had. I decided to treat myself to some new bits from Boots which I thought I would share with you.

Boots have a great offer on the Barry M nail varnishes 3 for 2. I have hardly any red nail polishes so I decided to go for the Gelly Nail Paint in Blood Orange. I hadn't tried the Gelly Nail paints and I have to say I am so impressed with them. I can't get over how great the look.

Next was the Matte Nail Paint in Crush. This is my first matte nail varnish and I'm in love with it. It's such a great colour. I wish I had found it in the winter though as it's not really a spring colour but I love it nevertheless!

Now the last one is one that Dan actually chose, to be honest we had been in Boots for a while and he was desperate to get to Costa's so I think he pointed at anyone, even so he went for one of the new Silk Polishes in the colour Meadow. This colour is perfect for spring and the finish is beautiful. I am really interested to see what the other colours are like.

I've been really struggling with my skin recently. For some reason my skin has gone from being normal/dry to being oily. I was finding my foundation was melting off of my face after a couple of hours and its the most unattractive thing. I was becoming so self conscious that I decided to do something about it. I had looked at lots of different blogs and found so many different products that people recommend for oily skin.

In the end I decided to go for the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial wash and moisturiser and Soap & Glory's Peaches and Clean. I have to say after only 4 days I have seen a dramatic change in my skin. I want to try this out for a bit longer so I can really tell if it makes a difference but so far it's been positive.

I also picked up this pressed powder by Seventeen. If I'm completely honest I only went for it as it was cheap and said Matte across the front of it!! Dan's patience was running thin after I had been dragging him round Boots so I thought as it was only about £3 if it didn't work or I didn't like it I could bin it. Again this is one I want to try for a little longer before I say I am completely in love with it but at the moment I'm pretty damn impressed. I have changed the foundation I'm using back to one of my old favs and this works perfectly with it. I no longer have my make up sliding down my face, in fact when I go to wash my face at the end of the evening it looks exactly the same as when I put it on!

This post was a little different for me, by no way am I a 'beauty guru'....I leave that to my sister Lauren at The Beauty Habit, but I'm a girl and I do love make up so be prepared for the occasional make up review or haul from a beauty novice!!!
