Weight Loss Motivation!

For the past few months my motivation to lose weight has taken a massive nose dive. I've done really well to maintain my weight and not put anymore on but I'm still disappointed that I'm not more motivated to go out there and start shifting the pounds. It was a beautiful day today so, knowing that the football was going to be taking over the day, I popped down to my favourite shop at the moment Wilkinsons and got a few arts and crafts bits. I made this very cute visual weight loss tracker. I painted 52 bottle tops each with a '1' on to show a pound in weight. For every pounds I lose I will take one from the pounds to lose and put it into the pounds lost. This way I will be able to visually see how much I am losing and hopefully get my motivation back. If you would like to make one then here's how!!

You will need:

2x Jars - I used these two plastic sweet jars (I quickly gave the chocolate away so I didn't eat it!)
Double sided tape
Nail Varnish
Bottle tops
Fake flowers
I also picked up this super cute Easel from Wilkinsons for £1.50!

1. Start by painting the bottle tops with a number 1. You can use whatever colour nail varnish you like. Make sure these are dry before you place them into the jar.

2. Next remove any labels from your jars and make sure they are clean before you start decorating. I chose to use a little ribbon and some flowers to put around the jars. Please be careful if you are using the superglue..... I stupidly thought it would be a good idea to do this on my lap, I now have superglue on my favourite pair of jeans!!!

3. Now mark on each jar "pounds to lose' and 'pounds lost.'

4. Once the bottle tops are dry add them to the pounds to lose jar.

And you're done!

  2. Really really great idea! When I was losing weight I found that little goals along the way helped as well, like losing a certain amount by holiday, my sisters wedding etc! Look at the little goals rather than the big picture and it all seems a bit more achievable.
