Things I loved in August!

I have to start this post off with our most favourite thing which is getting Rocky the cat back!! It's so nice to have him home with us again. Dan's lovely Mum was looking after him when we were living with my parents whilst the house was being built and I know he had a great time there but we missed him so much. We were a little worried what Dave would be like when he came back but as soon as we let Rocky out of the carrier he and Dave acted like they had never been apart. Things quickly went back to how they were with Rocky chasing Dave around the whole's good to be home together.

Last month I was very kindly sent a cake to try from the lovely Baker Days, now this wasn't any ordinary cake....this was a cake delivered through your letter box! To find out more head over to my post to see how it works.

Dan and I haven't gone mad with things for the house as we decided we wanted to live in the house for a bit before we properly started to decorate and put our touch on it. However it was hard to resist a few things and this was one of them. We picked this up from Next's home range and it looks fantastic in our kitchen, plus gone are the days of writing up a meal plan on the back of an old envelope and sticking it to the fridge only for the cat to think it's a toy and pull it down! Now this hangs pride of place in our kitchen and I couldn't be happier with it.

Last month Dan and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary as a couple and Dan surprised me with tickets to see the Lion King! I have been wanting to see this for about 7 years and I finally got to go. It really didn't disappoint, it was truly a fantastic show and I cannot recommend it enough. The cast and crew have put together a phenomenal show with an amazing wardrobe and set. If you can go and see it then do, you honestly won't be disappointed.

My nails have taken a bit of a battering over the past few months with all the packing and lifting of boxes but one polish I have fallen head over heals with is the polish on the left of this photo. Maybelline's Colour Show Acid Wash. Last year I saw Fleur De Force wearing the Illamasqua Blizzard nail polish and completely fell in love with it but at £14.50 I just could justify all that money on one nail polish so when I saw this I decided to give it a go and see if it would be a bit of a dupe and it actually is! The only difference is the Maybelline is white whereas the Illamasqua is silver but just £3.99 you can't go wrong.
