Giving up caffeine!!!

For the past few months I've been getting the most unbearable headaches and for the life of me I couldn't work out why. I thought it may have been the stress of moving but now we are all settled in they still haven't gone. So I've made the ultimate sacrifice to try and get rid of them by giving up caffeine!! Everyone that knows me knows I'm addicted to Diet Coke, I can't go a day without the stuff. Now I know it's not great for you but I don't drink and I don't smoke so if that's the worst thing that I do then I'm ok with that!

I'm switching to decaf coffee, just one, in the morning and then I'll be having water and fruit juices throughout the day. It's going to be tough for me but I'm determined to get rid of these awful headaches as I just can't continue like it. If you have any suggestions of healthier drinks that I can try then just let me know :)

  1. I went down to one soda a day a year or so ago, then to one a week when I got pregnant. I have gestational diabetes and now I maybe drink 6 oz a week.

Getting through the tired, empty, zombie feeling of no caffine is a pain in the ass but I sleep so good now. I drink a lot more water than I used to, and I find it much easier to do if it's cold and through a straw. I don't leave my house without my giant adult sippy cup (double wall tumbler) full of ice and water.

  2. I switched to decaff as well and I actually feel much better since doing it. :)

  3. I try not to have much caffeine and I don't like hot drinks so coffee isn't a problem. I'd recommend coconut water as an alternative - super healthy and hydrating :)

  4. I've never had a single cup of coffee and I intend to keep it that way as people seem to get "addicted" to it quite easily! Instead, I stick to tea, a great healthy (and tasty) alternative! xo
