The Netflix Tag

The lovely Alice from Annie Writes Beauty created this fun Netflix tag. Being a fellow Netflix addicted I thought I would give it a go and share a couple of my favourite TV series and hopefully in return you will share some of yours with me. Enjoy!

1. What are your favourite series' to watch on Netflix?
Him & Her, 24, Pretty Little Liars, The Office and my favourite series to have on in the background whilst I'm cooking or having a tidy up around the house is Outnumbered.

2. What are you currently watching on Netflix?
At the moment I have been absolutely obsessed with Pretty Little Liars to the point where I have watched all of it since the 1st January......I need to get a life!! Now that I have finished that I'm just about to start watching Ru Paul Drag Race after my sister said it was a must watch.

3. If you could have any series, old or new put on Netflix, what would it be?
Without a doubt it would have to be Friends it still cracks me up. I know every single line word for work but it's still one of my all time favourite TV series.

4. What is your one peeve about Netflix?
I get really annoyed with the fact that there are two versions of Netflix, one for the US and one for the UK. It' so frustrating as I'll hear that a movie or TV series is coming to Netflix only to find it's on the US version and not available in the UK.

5. What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
A good TV series, Peanut Butter M&M's, duvet on the sofa and a large glass of cold white wine......perfect!

6. Recommend one series or film for someone else?
My favourite TV series that we have watched would be 24. If you haven't watched it then I challenge you to watch at least 2 episodes and not get addicted! It's a brilliant TV series. This is mine and Dan's favourite thing to watch. We can't wait to get back from holiday and get started on Season 9!!

My Birthday Wish List!

So it's my birthday on Monday and for the 5th year running I'll be 21 again!!! In all seriousness this year I will officially be closer to 30 than 20, which quite frankly scares the poop out of me. I don't want to get older, I liked 25 I'm happy to stay at that age.

1. Bella Butterfly Skater Dress £20 BooHoo: I absolutely love this dress from Boohoo. I used to shop on Boohoo all the time but about 4 years ago I found the quality had slipped a bit and to be honest there was never really anything on there that I fancied so I stopped shopping there until a few months ago when Lauren told me to have another look as there were so many lovely items on their website. We're off on holiday next week so this dress would be great to wear around Hong Kong and at just £20 I think this is a complete bargain!

2. Classic Cardy Ugg Boots £110 Ugg: I basically live in Ugg boots always have, always will! No matter what the season I will have my uggs on. My first ever pair of Ugg boots were these grey cardy ones and I loved them until I eventually wore them out. I would love to get another pair of these as they were SO comfy.

3. Canon 600D: I was so lucky to get a laptop for Christmas so I feel a little bit of a spoilt brat for even thinking of lusting after a camera but I would love to get a nice camera to be able to take photos of my own. I rely on my iPhone to take photos and even though the camera is great I'd love to have a stand alone camera that I can use for my blogging, holiday photos and (of course if you follow me on instagram) taking photos of Dave....he's so photogenic!!!

4. Junior Mints £14.44 Amazon: I found these sweets in the 'World Food' aisle at Tesco's and have been addicted to them ever since!

5. Original Wayfarer Classic Black £125 Rayban: I'm a sucker for buying cheap sunglasses some of which have absolutely no UV protection. I think the last pair of proper UV protection sunglasses I had were given to me by my Dad about 10+ years ago.

6. Arrow Pendant £125 Tiffany: This necklace is just stunning. Dan gave me a Viviene Westwood necklace about 4 years ago which was really pretty but after about 6 months it started to tarnish! Ever since I haven't replaced it so this would be a lovely replacement. Although with the price tag I think this maybe wishful thinking!

7. Cashmere Matte Collection £7.99 each Boots: You all know I love nail polishes and shockingly I don't own any Essie nail polishes...I know scandalous!!

8. Laura Mercier Creme BrulĂ©e Honey Bath £32 Selfridges & 9. Lush Bath Bombs!: I have been obsessed with baths ever since we moved into our new house. So either of these would be amazing to receive on my birthday.

10. Indoor Allotment £16.74 Amazon: How cute is this mini indoor allotment. One day I would love to have my own allotment so for now this would be great to grow my herbs in for the kitchen.

Glossybox January 2015

First of all apologies for the lateness of this post. It's been the busiest start to the New Year. We've busy planning our holiday in just under two weeks so I've been getting the house ready for Lauren to come and house/puppy sit whilst we are away. Anyway back to Glossybox, I was really tempted to cancel my Glossybox after the Christmas box as I was so disappointed with it. For a Christmas box there was no festive cheer in that box!! But to be honest I completely forgot and only remembered when this landed on my desk at work.

Kueshi Natural & Pleasant Cosmetics Revitalizing Face Toner 10.70 for 200ml www.kueshi.com: I've really got into using toners recently. I am currently using a sample bottle of the Liz Earle toner that I want to save for holiday as it's the perfect travel size. So I'll be really interested to see how this toner compares.

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm Superfruits 5 www.nakedlips.eu: You all know I have a huge addiciton to lip balms, it's true, I can't get enough of them. I have them lying around everywhere. On my desk at work, in the kitchen, my my bed, one in every bathroom.....see told you, ADDICTED!! This is 100% natural which is a big bonus so I'll be adding this to my collection.

Nicka K New York Colorluxe Powder Blush 8.95 for 5g www.nicka.com: Blusher has been my best friend over the past 2 years, I haven't been on holiday so at present I'm so white I'm basically see through, the only thing that's got my through my pale phase is the Mac Sharon Osbourne Peaches and Cream has become one of my all time favorite blushers. The colour of this blusher is gorgeous and whilst I'm not a massive fan of the packaging, I much prefer using a brush to apply, this will definitely make it's way into my blusher draw.

Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow £10 for 15g www.jellypongpong.com: I am so excited to use this product. I normally use a highlighter in a powder form so I'll be really interested to see how this gel works.

MeMeMe Eye Line Pencil in the colour Clay £4 www.mememecosmetics.com: I've never really been into wearing brown eyeliners but from what the card says this long lasting extra soft liner sounds like a great one to try!

Overall I'm really impressed with this months box, all the products are things I will definitely try which is good. I'm going to give Glossybox a few more months and to see if I want to keep my subscription going.

The Results Are In.....

About a year ago I got Dan this super cute money pot. As you will know if you read my blog we moved in with my parents for a year to save up for our house, so all our money was going to that. This meant that unfortunately we couldn't go out and visit Dan's Dad and family in Hong Kong which we were both really gutted about so I got this money pot and ever since we have been putting £1, £2 50p's 20p's in there. Also everytime we have said 'let's have a takeaway we have been taking that money putting it in the pot then having something else from home. I've also been selling a few things on selling sites and Christmas/birthday money has been going in.

As we go away in about 2 weeks we decided to crack open the jar and see how well we have done. Now this bit broke my heart, there isn't a plug to open this you have to smash it!!! We wrapped the pot in a towel and I gave it a good smack with a rolling pin.

After counting out all the coins and cash we have managed to save a grand total of £350!!!!!!!

We are already onto our next pot. Dan's Nan got us this....I think she's trying to tell us something.

What are your tips for saving those pennies? Are you a saver or a spender?

When Bertie came to stay!

Back in November we had the lovely Bertie come and stay with us for a week whilst Dan's Mum was away on holiday. I had the week off work to look after him and took full advantage of the time off to get the last few boxes out the house (with that said please excuse the chaos in the background of the photos!)

Three things you need to know about Bertie:

1. He loves tennis balls.

2. He loves to snuggle up and have a nap whilst we watched Jeremy Kyle. Yes I watch Jeremy Kyle...who doesn't on their days off?!

 3. He's not a fan of dogs on the telly! Yes, yet again I was watching trashy TV, Teen Mom to be exact, and this happened.....

Here are a few more photos of Bertie's stay with us.
Checking out Dave's toys basket.....finding all the tennis balls.
Someone found the treat jar!
Rocky decided to keep his distance and watch from the stairs.....needless to say they didn't get on!
This photo has me in hysterics. One evening Rocky decided to test the waters and come downstairs. They sat like this for about 3 minutes just staring at each other!!
Just chillin'
Out for an evening stroll
Picking up Dan and Dave from work to go for a walk at the park!
Just look at that face!

Things I loved in December

This year I was well and truly spoilt by Dan for Christmas, he surprised me with a very lovely laptop that rather embarrassingly made me cry when I opened it. I normally write all my blog posts on Dan's Apple Mac but I always feel terrible using it as he keeps all his photography work on there and I hate to keep him from his work. So having my very own computer is a dream. I'm still learning how to use Windows 8 but I'm absolutely loving being able to have all my own folders with my blog photos and drafts on there.....plus it's great to watch Pretty Little Liars on a big screen!!

We finally did it! Lauren, Dan and I actually got round to making a gingerbread house for Christmas and I have to say it came out pretty amazing. It may have taken us hours to make but we really enjoyed doing it and it made us really get into the Christmas spirit.

I have been totally obsessed with Lush bath bombs over the past month or two. I ordered some Lush gift sets for Christmas and couldn't resist adding a few of their Christmas bombs in for good measure.....turned out to be a big mistake. If you follow me on instagram you will have seen I pretty much had a bath every night!!! I really struggle to switch off from work some times so I've found having a bath really does relax me. It's my birthday in just over a week and more of these are definitely on my wish list.

Last month the lovely Karen from Style Sunrise hosted a giveaway to win a Baker Days cake. You all know I'm a massive fan of Baker Days and I was lucky enough to win!! I chose this delicious vanilla Christmas design cake which I had personalised for Dan. I just love their cakes, the idea that you can get a cake delivered through your letterbox BLOWS MY MIND!!! A huge thank you to Karen and Baker Days for this lovely prize.

Would you tell a friend they're fat?!

Last week a certain 'weight loss expert' decided to declare January 7th a day to 'Tell a Friend They're Fat.' I'm not going to name him as I don't want to give him anymore spotlight as he is currently getting, but what the hell is he thinking?! Why start of the New Year with such negativity and unkindness. We live in a world where there is this almighty pressure for everyone to look and be a certain way. We have to conform to a certain size or else we are ridiculed and labelled fat or overweight. I look back to when I was 18, I was a healthy size 12 and 10 and a half stone yet I would constantly put myself down as I wasn't as skinny as the girls on the front of the magazines. I would compare myself to my friends and family. I even joined a weightloss group. When I see photos of myself back then I love how I look and if I lost anymore weight I would look gaunt. Now at 25 I've put on a lot of weight and yes, if I put my measurements in the BMI calculator it would come up overweight but I don't need any of my friends or family to tell me this on a certain day of the year. I have a mirror, I know my size 12 jeans don't fit anymore......I'm not living in denial!!!

The lovely people at Slink Magazine decided to change 'Tell a Friend They're Fat Day' into 'Tell a Friend They're FAB Day!' Which I much prefer :)

So with that in mind and although it's not the 7th January....YOU ARE ALL FAB!! Every single one of you reading this. Don't feel like you have to fit into a certain size to be 'normal' as long as you are happy in yourself embrace that.

Would you tell a Friend They're Fat?

Gifts from Portland!

My beautiful friend Tarah sent me a very exciting parcel in the post this month all the way from Portland! Tarah and I met on Instagram when I was looking for someone to do a 'Food Swap' with as Dan and I were really interested in trying foods from different countries and thought this would be a fun way of doing it. Ever since our first swap we have stayed in contact and I now count her as a very good friend!!

How is it that someone I have never met, knows me so well. She always manages to send me things that I absolutely love.

On the left are these delicious Beer Berries covered in dark chocolate.......my god these taste amazing. I have had them by my bed as an evening treat whilst watching Pretty Little Liars and they have gone down very well. Plus the great thing is they taste a little bit of coffee chocolate so Dan isn't a fan which means I don't have to share!!!!! On the right is the lovely sounding loose tea which I am so excited to try, I will be taking this into the office for my tea time cuppa.

I could have cried when I saw these in the box. Tarah actually got me one of these in my last box and unfortunately Dave the dog took a shine to it and one day took it out of my handbag and munched through the whole thing. When I saw that there were actually two of these in the box I just lost it! I would go as far as saying these are the best lip balms I have ever used. It's made from Bees wax, organic extra virgin coconut oil, organic olive oil and organic peppermint oil.  If you are from Portland and haven't tried this then you must! www.portlandbeebalm.com

Next up is this pot of Marionberry Jam, Huckleberry Lemonade and Hazelnut coffee lolly pop. I cannot wait to try all of these. Dan and I will probably fight over the jam as we both love jam on toast!

The next thing we found in the box was this scarf for Dan, now he is a huge football (soccer) fan and was made up when he saw this. He's already been googling Portland Timbers and youtubing some of their games and also of their Mascot TimberJoe who cuts a large log with a chainsaw everytime they score a goal. There was also this bacon floss which cracked us both up!

Then there are these really exciting Wild Friends packets. I cannot wait to try these. They say on the back that they are perfect for walkers so we're going to put them to the test and take them out with us on our next walk with the pup. Obviously we are going to have to try each others as they sound amazing.

Tarah also gave me this stunning Necklace of the Portland Bridge which I will forever treasure!

Lastly, on Tarah's note she said to take this and send her a video of me annoying Dan with it.....she knows me so so well. I spend my life winding Dan up and joking around with him. I'm sure I will put this to good use. Most probably when I'm being made to watch yet another football game or Match of the Day. In the words of Liam Neeson....'Dan I will look for you, I will find you, and I will annoy you.'

A huge thank you to my friend from across the pond for all these lovely thoughful gifts we will use/eat every single one of them. Love you sweetie! xx

Clinique 'Party Tips' Gift Set

My family know me so well, this year for Christmas I got soooo many nail varnishes including this gorgeous Clinique Party Tips gift set from my lovely sister. The nail varnishes came in this pink and orange zip bag which I have already put to good use, it's currently holding all of my top and base coats etc.

There are three colours in this set, Strappy Sandals, Black Honey and Amethyst. Unfortunately I have no idea which one is which as the names are just written on the box. But nevertheless the colours are just gorgeous. You do need two coats of these but they are very quick to dry and with a topcoat they really do look stunning.

I've only ever had one other Clinique nail polish and after getting this set I have no idea why I haven't picked some out before. I'm so impressed and will definitely be looking to get some more.

Have you tried Clinique nail polishes before? What colours are your favourite?

Goals for 2015

So 2015 has begun and it's got big shoes to fill as 2014 was a life changing year for Dan and I. We brought our first home, Dan's photography business really took off and with Rocky the cat back home we were finally back to being our little family again. Before I start getting into all my goals for the New Year I wanted to touch on Christmas and say how utterly amazing it was. Let's face it after my crap Christmas last year it didn't really have to do much to beat it but it truly was amazing. We had my Grandparents and Auntie join us which was so lovely as the last Christmas we had together was about 10+ years ago. We did nothing but laugh all day....and the lunch....DELCIOUS!!! I was so spoilt with gifts this year, Dan was far too generous and got me a laptop (squeals with excitement!) which, embarrassingly, made me cry when I opened it. I got lots of lush bath bombs, clothes, vouchers to get things for the house, nail varnishes, beauty products and lots more. I'm so grateful to my family and friends for all the gifts but it's not the gifts that make the day it's the quality time I got to spend with everyone and the memories we made that I will remember.

Now onto my goals:
  1. Get a hair cut - Now this seems an odd one but I haven't had a hair cut in about 2 years...maybe 3 I lose count.
  2. Spend atleast one night a week with Dan with no technology or social media - It can be easy to get caught up in the wonderful world of the internet and social media and lose track of what's important. I want to make sure Dan and I spend at least one evening a week without phones, without laptops or computers, just spending some quality time together.
  3. Lose weight - Every year I always say I'll finally lose weight and it never happens. But this year I WILL lose the weight. I'm aiming for 3 stone which is a lot but I know I can do it.
  4. Get back to the gym - This follows on from the above goal. We really got into going to the gym last year but when we moved we were so busy it slipped ALOT.
  5. Take Dave to new places - Dave loves going out on walks, we take him to Puppy Love and our favourite place is to take him down to West Wittering Beach. This year I want to take him to lots of new places on lots of new walks.
  6. Go out to new places - This year is the year for Dan and I to go out on more trips to see new places. Dan surprised me a year ago with a day trip to Amsterdam and we had an absolute blast. There are so many amazing places for us to visit that are just a short plane ride away!
  7. Aim to do 8 blog posts a month - This is always something I try to set myself a monthly target of and I have hit it but I want to make sure I do a minimum of 8 a month as when I write and publish my posts I love it.
  8. Get my bloglovin followers up to 500 - This one is probably my toughest goal. I'm currently at 220 bloglovin followers and I'd love to get it up to 500 by the end of the year.
  9. Get my Twitter followers up to 2,000 - If you follow me then you will know I am obsessed with Twitter. I've met so many amazing people through Twitter and I really enjoy interacting with followers and other bloggers!
  10. Be Happy - More than anything this year I want to make sure Dan and I are happy. We're now in our lovely new home, our family is back together and we already have lots of exciting things planned for the year ahead.
Here's to an amazing 2015!!!

How was your Christmas? What goals have you set yourself for this year?
