My First week at Slimming World


As you may or may not know I joined Slimming World at the beginning of the year online and although I got on really well and lost a stone in weight I was finding that I was becoming a little slack with sticking to the diet. There was no pressure of weighing in in front of anyone as I was at home doing it myself. So if I had a naughty day and ate what I wanted no one would know as it was me that was going to read the scales.

So, with the wedding in mind, I decided to cancel my online membership and get my bum down to the meetings. Weighing in in front of someone else was really tough but the ladies at Slimming World made it feel so easy and like it was a positive not a negative! I set my goal weight and really got to grips with how the diet works.

My first week went really well, I got back on track with organising my breakfast and lunches the night before. I really stocked up on my super foods and even Dan enjoyed all the yummy food we were eating.

Now this is where I have mixed feelings, I only lost 3 lbs. Although to some this is a lot, as it was my first week I expected a lot more. When I first started at the beginning of the month I lost 8! But after coming home and talking to Dan who told me not to worry and that actually since we have been back from holiday we've both been so good with what we have been eating so technically I hadn't gone from takeaways, chocolate and lots of fatty foods to then eating really well.

I'm still determined to shift the pounds, especially as we are looking at getting married next July. I've got a long way to go but I really think that with Slimming World and also getting back to the gym I could really shift the weight I want by our wedding.

Are you a member of Slimming World? How do you get on with it? Any tips for a newbie?!

  1. I have not long started Slimming world, in fact this is my second week. Finding it a little tough as to what you can and can't have but I am getting there :)

  4. I've never heard of Slimming World! Definitely sounds like something I would be interested in. 3 lbs is actually really good for one week! Way to go :)
