We've set the date!

So we've been engaged for 11 weeks now and we've finally set a date! I don't think I realised how stressful it would be just to set a bloody date but we've done it now. The big day is set for the 1st July 2016! That's only 15 months away and there is so much to organise but now we are finally over the stressful period and we're really enjoying the whole experience.

Both Dan and I knew we wanted a Church wedding and I am so pleased that we can get married in the church I grew up in. I was Christened and Confirmed in this church and also used to sing in the choir so it means so much to me that I will be able to have my very own wedding there after years of singing for others people's weddings. Obviously I am biased, but it's the prettiest village church in such a beautiful setting and I just can't wait! We have also booked our reception venue which is about 10 minutes down the road from the church. It's a stunning estate with a huge house, marbled ball room and 'conservatory' room opening out onto the gardens that we will have the wedding breakfast in. We're also plan to use the gorgeous garden area (with free roaming peacocks) to have lots of gardens games and cocktail bars set up on. Also if you see the collage below the photo on the bottom right shows the huge cottages our guests can rent so we can all stay together and party long into the night!!

I've got so many ideas for decorations and my Pinterest is full of different boards. Next up is the catering, if you follow me on Twitter you will have seen I was extremely shocked when I started looking at caterers. I had no idea how much they cost. I did float the idea of Happy Meals for our wedding breakfast but Dan didn't find it funny!!

I've inherited my mum's craft gene and I really hope that I can make as many personal touches for our wedding as possible. I might share these on here, if this is something you would like to see then let me know in the comments below.

Third Week at Slimming World

Wednesday was weigh in day and for once I actually went in feeling confident! Although we had just had Easter I had completely stuck to plan and avoided all my eggs and chocolate gifts. Now I'm not saying I was an angel, it was my Dad's birthday so I may have had a small piece of the cake I made him but I was good and noted it on my food diary!

Dad's Birthday cake I made him
The night before my weigh in I decided to do something with all the eggs I had received as quite frankly....they kept looking at me!!! So I grabbed the scales, my syn calculator and some zippy bags and got to work synning all the chocolate so that I had some syn treats for when I had a sweet tooth. I didn't quite realised how many it would make until I counted. I now have 21 bags of chocolate, 2 twirls and 2 creme eggs to work my way through.

Anyway back to the results. So on Wednesday I stepped on the scales and lost another 2.5 pounds...that's now 7.5 in total which meant I got my 1/2 stone award. I was so pleased and raced home to show Dan. I haven't felt this good in a long time and I feel so in control of what I am eating. Of course I still sit there and crave certain foods. The other day I was having a bit of a down day and all I wanted to do was go home get in my onesie, order a chinese and watch trashy films, but just looking through my book and seeing my weight loss made me want to stick to it. So instead I grabbed the latest Slimming World magazine which had loads of recipes for Chinese dishes and I cooked us Beef in Black Bean with Egg Fried Rice from scratch. It was delicious!

As always I've got my next goal in line....my stone award. I know I will get it I've just got to keep planning my meals and get outside with the pup walking in this gorgeous weather!

Things I loved in March

Well there went March, can you believe we are already in April! I say this every month but this year really is flying by so quickly. It's time for the things I loved in March and of course I have to kick it off with the best date of March, the 18th which is Dave's birthday. I cannot believe he is already 5!! You may or may not know this but we are lucky enough to be able to bring Dave to work with us everyday, he is nicknamed 'Office Dog' and is even on our 'Our People' page on our company website. So as this poor little chap had to come into the office on his birthday I made him a doggy friendly birthday cake which he gobbled up in minutes. There's a funny story behind this photo. We put this onto our company Twitter page and the photo ended up in one of the most popular worldwide Insurance Magazines.....we've always tried so hard to get into that magazine and after all these years the thing that gets us in there is a picture of 'Office Dog' on his birthday!!!

Next up is bath bombs. I actually got these for my birthday from Dan but we went away on holiday so close to my birthday I didn't have time to use them. I'm not going to go into the details but setting a date for a wedding was really hard and stressing me out and giving me really bad migraines which I have never had before. So baths were definitely a popular choice in March!!

This may seem like a weird one but I've been loving this razor from Wilkinson Sword that I received in my Glossybox. I've always been so lazy when it comes to buying razors and gone for the cheap disposable ones which tend to irritate my skin. So this Wilkinson Sword has been fantastic. I will definitely repurchase this when I need a new one!!

You will have seen if you follow my blog that the wedding diet has begun. I took my fat bum to Slimming World 3 weeks ago and the results have been amazing. I have never eaten so much on a diet but at the same time lost so much weight. I'm really enjoying it and it's given me such a boost to finally lose the weight I want to.

Last but not least is Wedding Planning. Now we have set a date the Wedding Planning is really taking pace. We have so much to do and I'm slightly concerned that people we know who are getting married after us are so much more organised than we are! Pintrest has become my best friend and I am compleletly obsessed with it. At present there have been no signs of Bridezilla.....but you never know when she could rear her ugly head!!!

Second Week at Slimming World

Last week was my second weigh in at Slimming World and it went so well. I lost another 2 pounds that's now 5 pounds in total! I can't believe it. If you read my first post on my Slimming World journey you will have seen I was a little disappointed with my first weigh in but after a bit of reflection I don't want to lose weight quickly, I'd much prefer to lose it slowly and steady. As long as I reach my target then I'm happy.

Hoping for another loss this week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
